My car's attitude problem

5pm yesterday, I left work for gym at the Curve. As I entered the parking, I winded down my power window to tag in with my Touch & Go card. After tagging in, the window wouldnt go back up! It stayed stuck no matter how many times I pressed the button. It's out of the question to leave my car in the parking lot with the windows open, so I found a parking spot and tried a few times to get it up, manually pulling up the glass even...it J.U.S.T. W.O.U.L.D.N.T. G.O. U.P.

I finally gave up as I got all sticky trying to correct it's attitude in the stuffy carpark. I drove off the Curve wasting RM2 for 10 minutes of getting the window up in the carpark. It was jammed on the road but just when I thought things couldnt possibly get any worse...it started to rain. Rain poured in the car from the opened window. On the driver's side. There I was, stucked in a jam, hot and wet. Then as it rained more and the aircond kicked in, I got sticky, wet and cold . And still stucked in the jam.

I got home an hour later, planning to bring my car to the window repair guy the next day. After a good bath and Atlantica-ing with Mr Boyfriend, I reached home at midnight only to found that the window has been winded up!

"Your dad started the engine and just pressed the button. It went up." my mum said.

My car has got an attitude. And I dont appreciate it.

Pudu Pudu

Christine, Jane, Joanne and I were passing by Pudu Prison last Saturday when Joanne mentioned that the mural on the walls surrounding the prison was painted by prisoners. This was followed by Jane's arguement that it was painted by a prisoner. Really...

So I went on to find out more about the paintings, starting by asking daddy. He said:

"Oh yea, it's one prisoner, but there were also others, his helpers...help him to carry the paint ma...I saw him painting many many years ago...there were prison officers around to jaga..."

So in some way, both Joanne and Jane is right la...then I went on to wiki the wall painting, reason being Joanne said they are gonna be demolished, I dunno she meant the walls or painting, but if no walls means no painting also wat

If this is so...I personally think it should not be demolished...and it seems that we can see the inside of the prison if we take the KLmonorail...here's a picture of it...

I dont think this view is taken from the monorail tho...it's probably taken from the high rise building opposite or from a heli

Anyway, why were we in KL on a hot and jammed Saturday afternoon? We were there for Loreal shopping sales! Brands like Lancome, Biotherm and Shu Uemura were selling cheap at Lower Lobby of Parkroyal Hotel. My purpose was to get a mascara and foundation cream. Temptation kicks in and I ended up spending 600...eat bread only lo this month...

I was surfing the net when I stumbled upon this line. It brought a smile to me and made some real world sense as well. There are always people we know who loves that greasy steak or that deep fried chicken. There are also people who loves greens and stuff them in like rabbits. And we would go, OMG! look at what he/she is eating!

There, we are Yucking someone's Yum.

How quick we are to pass judgement when it's obvious each of us have differrent taste. Someone else could be yucking our yum as well, and who are they to say?

"Yuck, Mr Boyfriend. Why are you eating spring onions?"

Charity by eating

My company held a charity event on 19 August which was build around the idea of food. "Eat and contribute" la it seems...We can opt to have Big Apple Donuts for RM18 a set / RM4 per pcs or breakfast order of:

Chicken Frank in Yeast Roll, Garlic Bread
Mushroom Soup
Flaming Cheese Ball - 5 pcs
Spaghetti Chicken Bolognaise

I brought a set of donuts and had mushroon soup and flaming cheese ball for breakfast...i dont really fancy donuts so i didnt even have one, Mr Boyfriend and my family finished them up. Choco and Jane also ordered a box of donuts each. It was all in spirit of charity. I dont even like the flaming cheese balls. Thank god the mushroom soup was good!

Ho Yee Kee Prawn Noodle

Has been quite sometime since I put up a food entry...the last was on 2nd December 2007 about Jack's Place. I've been MIA for so long due to busy work schedule, but I am determined to get this blog up and alive again, just like the old times.

Today's entry would be on yummy Prawn Noodle @ Kepong Baru.

Mr Boyfriend and I woke up around after lunch on Saturday 25 July, like any normal Saturdays we have. Stomach growling, we cracked our head on what to have for lunch. Surprisingly brilliant, Mr Boyfriend thought of this Kepong Prawn Noodle and we asked Pau along. This place is quite easy to find actually, but I am not familiar with Kepong..so sorry la no directions provided here. But as you all can see from this picture, Pau is eating so happily (hungrily actually)...so really worth making a trip there to eat...the ambience is good as well, the place looks hot as it is just a stall by the road side, but it's actually not really hot...just google la...or click here

We pick the special special ones...cost us RM18 per bowl......but nvmla, once a while...just wanna try the best ones they have first.

This particular one was among many of those motivational quotes I've seen. I dont have a superb memory. You can tell me one thing, and I can forget it the next hour. Or instantly. I used to take lots of raisins before a big test during my school days because I read somewhere that says raisins improve memory. Funny I could remember that...

Anyway back to the quote, it successfully made an impression and takes a place just below my personal tag line, work hard, play hard. During a soft skill training back in KPMG, the coach made us write a tag line for ourselves and read it aloud. Without thinking, I wrote work hard, play hard, try my best in all I do (I added the last part to make it longer and sounded better =P). It was well received and the class was impressed..haha! Mainly because theirs was really random words made up in the last minute so it sounded really lame and boring.

Work hard and play hard seems easy when we have the energy, willingness and capabitily to do it. What if I dont feel like working on a particular week? How do I work hard? What if I am broke? How do I play hard? And this gets harder when I get older simply because I am better at giving myself excuses...wtf!! Hence, "No matter how you feel, get up and show up" was the best solution I found. Showing up, is half the battle.

Of big and huge

I subscribed to healthkicker.com and visits this site often. It speaks mainly of diets and body shapes, though occasionally, there are some post on migraines and personalities. This goes to show how much certain burning issues are so common among us.

It's my burning issue at the moment as well. I have been looking at my old photos and really missing those times where I can put anything on and looks great! haha...wtf, self praise pula...but it was such convenient times for me...it doesnt help when I was looking at the pics with Pau and Man man, and all they commented was "wah so slim!!"...meaning now i fat lo...

Actually looking at any calculation wise as the base point, I fall into "normal" category. However, we grew up in a place and culture where this normal category is "not normal"...I feel la** Yea clothes can flatter a body, but the body has to be in a right state where the clothes can actually do the flattering. Tell me, how flattering can it be for a 5 feet 150 pounds wearing and XL stylish cut pants and designer shirt...compared to the 100 pounds chic who can just slip into the S size of the similiar attire? It's different.

Painted my weekend

It was a short and eventful weekend. Short because I was working on Saturday, eventful because I went for paintball on Sunday

About 10++ of us meet up at McDs Centre Point for breakfast at 8am, of coz some were late (as usual) and we ended up leaving around 9am. Then we convoy all the way to Tanamera at Sungai Buloh, the largest paintball park in South East Asia...Oh, and I saw ducks! =P

We went to get our marker, which is actually the gun la...

Me: Why is it called markers huh? Gun, gun la!
Marcus: Coz when it shoots you, your body got a mark ma!

OIC...

We can play a total of 5 games, all different fields, or until our paintballs finishes. The first game was a real killer. I couldnt see through the mask full of scratches, couldnt get the hang of what I was suppose to do, couldnt catch my breath. Then we took a 10 minutes break. I was hesitating whether to continue the rest of the rounds or just leave. It felt like I ran a marathon and my shoulder hurts. But to think I spent 85 bucks for just a game, made me go on...

Haha, right choice, as the rest of the rounds were great! Probably I finally got the hang of it... I didnt get hit in the field but got hit while out of field (not a safe point yet). It was pain fun! There were others who got hit at the arms, chest, head, neck and nuts...enough said...Around 3pm, we were all exhausted, sticky and sweaty, and just crave for a good bath back home. That night, I couldnt even go out for dinner. Called my dad to buy pizza instead...

After much debate between Tadika and me, I finally got orange to be my mouey mouey. It's supposed to be RM25.90 per sotong, but because we bought 6, we got them for RM90. This is the power of being sister enough, got discount...haha...you know who you are...

Yesterday night, the whole bunch of KPs and exKPs plus my man man went Neway @ 1 Utama to celebrate Hui San's farewell. We celebrate farewell as a sign of people leaving for the better. That's why we dont cry... WTH

We sang from 7pm right up to midnight. Jacq screamed however.
